The Holidays Are Here!
Hey everyone,
Tonight is the Christmas parade for our city, my kids are super excited to go see all the floats. My brother will be playing Santa Clause this year and I am so taking my camera. His wife and baby will also be in the parade with him. Anyways, I love the Christmas Holidays, there is just something in the air that just makes everyone a little nicer during this time of year. My kids had me put up the tree and they decorated it, the problem now is that my baby who is 8 months already likes pulling off the ornaments, it’s a good thing they are plastic and not glass.
The cooler weather also makes it feel more like Christmas since it’s always very hot in Texas, we don’t get a lot of cool weather. It’s in the 80’s as I type this, not very Christmasy is it. We are expecting the weather to change though, I enjoy the cooler weather because of all the foods I get to cook and bake for my family, like soups, hot cocoa, pies, and so much more.
This Christmas is a bit harder financially speaking for many here in the valley, even we are feeling the strain of just how broke everybody is this year. My husband and I have our own small company, we place vending machines in locations and then fill them up once a week. We always, have a lot of snacks and cokes around the house because of our business and it’s a bit hard for our kids to keep out of the merchandise.
Since we rely on the consumer to make our money, we are seeing just how slow things are right now. Many businesses are closing and a lot of people are having a hard time paying their bills and our neighbors have even lost their home. Times are super hard for many this Christmas but, there are many who are already giving to those who are less fortunate. We have some charities where we can give food and toys and even clothing. I feel great respect for those that put aside there own needs to help others. I will be doing some donating of my own as well, I know we are kinda broke but, there are those that are still worse off than we are. Anyways, Happy Holidays to you and your family.
